XML Editorial System for Machine and Plant Engineering: gds presents new expansion stage of XR/engineering at tekom spring conference

XR product family update | Reduced time-to-market for machine and plant engineering | XML – as simple as working with Word

Sassenberg / Koblenz, February 27, 2018 – Context-sensitive work, high usability and a modern, lean architecture - the XR product family of the gds group has been enriched by an XML industry solution. XR/engineering was specially developed for the requirements of mechanical and plant engineering in the creation of technical documentation. At this year's tekom spring conference, gds and its subsidiary Ovidius will offer interested visitors coming to Stand 25 in the Rhein-Mosel-Hall in Koblenz an insight into the functions and advantages of their editorial solutions

"The XR product family stands for achieving maximum efficiency in technical documentation with high scalability", says Ulrich Pelster, Managing Director of the gds Group. According to Pelster, machine and plant manufacturers should now also benefit from the advantages of a powerful yet easy-to-use XML editorial system with XR/engineering, which has already made a name for itself in the aviation industry. "With XR/engineering, time-to-market cycles can be significantly reduced without great effort."

XR/engineering offers numerous functions tailored to the needs of the industry. This includes the possibility to extensively classify all contents. In addition, technical writers can automatically create maintenance tables and lists of consumables and tools based on previously classified content. XR/engineering also supports users in variant management and enables fast publication of product variants. The enormous scalability of XR solutions also allows technical writers to individually define workflows as well as roles and rights. Despite its extensive functions, XR/engineering does not require any in-depth XML knowledge on the part of the user thanks to the fully integrated, easy-to-use XML editor.

In addition to XR/engineering, the gds group will of course also be providing information on innovations in the established Word editing system docuglobe at its trade fair stand. As a full-service provider for technical documentation, the gds Group also provides comprehensive services for all aspects of documentation creation, individual technical translations and advice on risk assessment and CE marking.

Trade Fair Appearance: 19 to 20 April, Rhein-Mosel Hall in Koblenz, Stand 25
