Sassenberg, May 3, 2022 – Product safety and product compliance are two important topics for many companies. To discuss these topics and any potential solutions, reuschlaw Legal Consultants will hold the second Product Compliance Dialog (PCD) event in Dresden on May 11-12. The participants can discuss the core topics of product compliance with experts from industry, market surveillance authorities, or testing bodies either on site or remotely. gds GmbH will also be involved. The Competence Center for Technical Communication and Information Management will support the organizers as a partner as well as provide an expert contribution to the exciting conference program.

“In order to fully support our customers in the field of product compliance from a technical as well as legal point of view, we are already working together with reuschlaw Legal Consultants in the form of a consulting cooperation,” says Ludger Bruns, head of the consulting service of gds GmbH. Within the framework of this cooperation, gds provides its expertise in the fields of risk assessment and technical documentation while the consulting company is responsible for the legal aspects. “As a partner of the Product Compliance Dialog event, we will be able to network with other responsible players in order to discuss all of the relevant issues in terms of product compliance and product marking.”

In Dresden, gds will not only be available as an expert, but also hold an informative lecture. On May 12 at 2:15 pm, Ludger Bruns will explain all of the factors that have to be taken into consideration during a risk assessment when he gives his lecture about “Risikobeurteilung: initiales Instrument zur Konformität und Chance” (Risk assessment: initial tool for compliance and opportunities). As an expert for technical documentation and the CE as well as the new UKCA marking for trade with the UK, he shows how companies can ensure that all of the required documents are always available.

Hybrid event

All interested parties can participate in the second Product Compliance Dialog event either remotely or on site at the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski in Dresden. In addition to product safety, the key topics of the event include the environmental legislation, electrical and electronic equipment act, supply chain act, legislation around conflict minerals, accessibility act, and EU regulations EUTR for the timber trade and REACH for trade in chemicals. In addition to representatives from the business sector and consumer goods industry, the speakers also include decision-makers from the market surveillance authorities and testing bodies. “We look forward to many exciting and interesting discussions,” says Bruns. “The added value that we can provide – especially in the field of technical documentation – is enormous. We are also happy to support you in creating the relevant content and establishing the necessary structures.”
